Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be injured or in pain to be a patient?
No! We encourage a proactive approach to health and maintenance care. When symptoms present themselves it usually means there is already tissue damage, irritation or dysfunction that has been building up for some time. The earlier dysfunction can be found and addressed, the better.
Do I qualify to be a patient?
This approach is for anyone looking to optimize their heath, find relief fro pain and correct dysfunction naturally. The only time somebody is not qualified is if their condition requires urgent medical attention or if their health status is such that treatment would not be appropriate.
Do you work with children?
Yes, we work with children! Creating a healthy foundation for a healthy, thriving life is best done early on.
What should I expect at the initial visit?
At your initial visit you will discuss your personal health goals and health history with Dr. Inesta. He will then perform a thorough evaluation, present his findings and discuss treatment options. If Dr. Inesta feels it’s appropriate and wish to proceed, treatment will be provided at the first visit.
Should I bring anything with me to the initial visit?
We ask that you bring any medication, supplements, relevant medical records, lab/imaging test results with you. Also, please bring loose shorts and a tank top or sports bra for examination.
Do I still need a primary care physician?
Yes you still need a primary care physician. We do not replace the services that your current medical team provides. We provide a stand-alone service to help your body itself and create health naturally.
Are acupuncture needles sterile?
Yes, acupuncture needles are sterile, only used once and then discarded.
What if I don’t want to have my spine adjusted?
While it is safe to have your spine adjusted in most situations, there are some cases when it would not be appropriate. Even if it is appropriate and safe based on your history and exam, if you are not comfortable with adjustments, we will not include them in your treatment plan. We use many different modalities and techniques, so we will develop a plan that you are not only comfortable with, but that will help you achieve your goals.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please do so at lest 24 hours in advance otherwise you will be financially responsible for the visit.
Does your office participate with insurance?
We do not participate with any health insurance for our services. If your plan has out of network benefits, you may be able to be reimbursed a percentage after your deductible has been met. We will gladly give you a receipt and a bill to submit if you choose to. If Medicare is your primary insurance, we will submit the claim for you as a courtesy, otherwise Westchester Sports and Wellness will not submit a claim to insurance on your behalf nor participate in the reimbursement process.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept check, cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card.
Can I use my HSA or FSA account?
Yes. Please check with your HR department to be sure.
